Chapter 6
King Leonard’s masterpiece
“Don’t be too grateful.”
“What?”
“Anyway, today is the end of the interview for the time being. Besides, shouldn’t you get used to the Navy without me, Pierre?”
“What? Why do you say that?”
“I’m going to quit this soon, too.”
Pierre frowned at Noah’s words.
“Have you decided to make money instead of protecting Herod’s national defense?!”
He laughed at Pierre’s criticism. Even as he poured out his magic, not a single color on his face changed.
Eventually, when a blue flag appeared on the coast, indicating that the beast had been finished, Noah released his hand from the charging terminal and turned around. He then put his gloves back on with such a perfect posture and stubbed out his cigarette.
He glanced at Pierre, who was clearly tired, and said as he went down the stairs.
“If I earn a lot of money and pay enough taxes, wouldn’t it be a greater help in protecting our national defense?”
Noah, who was going down the spiral staircase, unbuttoned the top button of his shirt that was constricting his neck and turned his stiff neck from side to side.
“At this fall banquet, keep an eye out for the debuting ladies. I should get married sometime next year!”
The King presented a marriage offer to Noah, who threatened to no longer participate in interviews.
“I will take care of my love life on my own, so don’t worry, Your Majesty.
“It’s not like I don’t know about your relationship, but you don’t plan on living just enjoying yourself, do you?”
What did he know what type of relationship he enjoyed? Was he talking about the uncharacteristic socialite who boasted that she was the prince’s love interest just by making eye contact? Despite his son’s cold attitude, the father only shrugged his shoulders.
As the look on his father’s face dawned, Noah strode down her stairs, swearing.
His only goal was to become completely independent from the boring royal family and achieve peace.
Noah Astrid appeared at the polo club for the first time in a long time. Judging by the sneer on his lips, he didn’t seem very at ease.
He took a strong cocktail from the club waiter, sat back on the sofa, and drank it down in one go. The ridge on his neck rose sharply as if it would pierce his neck. As he lightly wiped his alcohol-soaked lips with a handkerchief and lazily lowered his red-green eyes, someone nearby muttered in a sigh.
“It’s a very unfair world.”
Then, the person sitting across from him chimed in.
“Yes. I always feel that way when I see the Second Prince.”
Loud laughter erupted, but Noah did not join in.
“Noah, would you like another drink?”
When he snapped his finger instead of answering, the waiter who had been called quickly placed another drink in his hand.
Noah, who gulped it all at once, leaned back on the sofa and closed his eyes.
The prodigal sons, who were glancing at Noah, quietly brought up the topic that had been causing a stir among them.
“Noah, is that true?”
Noah slowly opened his eyes and only rolled his eyes.
“What.”
His voice was cracked.
“She is coming! Olivia of Pulder!”
His sneer deepened as he lifted his head, his eyes shining.
“Pathetic bastards.”
“Your Highness, is it true that Olivia of Pulder is coming?”
When he did not respond quickly, impatient people gathered around and began to interrogate him. There was no reason for it to be a secret, so Noah nodded tiredly.
“She is coming to clean up my Uncle’s sh*t for me.”
As soon as those words were out, cheers erupted from everywhere.
“You guys have nothing to do, that’s what you’ve been talking about all this time. I was moving all around until a sweet smell came out of my mouth.”
As Noah stood up, shaking his head, his polo friends burst into laughter and bowed politely.
“Thank you for your hard work, Your Highness.”
Noah laughed at the sight and poured cold water on the heads of the cheering people without mercy.
“But everyone, don’t have high expectations.”
The noisy interior of the club suddenly became quiet. Matt, who was nearby, tilted his head.
“Why?”
Noah glanced at him with a sarcastic expression, then replied, shoving his hands into his pockets.
“I heard that my aunt was very worried about people like you and that she was coming with Miss Liberty.”
“….”
Marguerite Astrid.
The eyes of Herod’s prodigal sons cooled as they remembered her terrifying and cynical expression.
Three weeks and two days.
This was the time it took for Margot and Olivia to arrive at Pulder. The sea route had many unexpected variables, and Margot and Olivia arrived at Herod’s capital, Herodington, two days later than scheduled. The problem was that when they arrived, it was just before the autumn banquet was held.
Royal staff rushed to bring dresses for Olivia and Margot to wear, but Margot returned Olivia’s dress.
“This is a debutante dress! Do you think Olivia Liberty has come to Herod to make her social debut?!”
As Noah said, Margot was very worried about Herod’s prodigal sons, so she ended up dressing Olivia in the clothes she wanted. Under her direction, Olivia wore a neat and tidy white shirt, a dark green flared skirt that accentuated her waist and spread out wide, and neat, shiny black shoes.
Her hair was neatly braided and tied with a ribbon the same color as her skirt, and her wispy bangs were held neatly by a silky light green headband.
In addition, although her makeup was as light and simple as possible, Margot looked at Olivia with concern.
Olivia, perhaps aware of her concerns, could not take her eyes off the sight of Herod unfolding outside the carriage. A wind blowing through the slightly open window carried the scent of Herod, which was different from that of Pulder.
Herod’s unique smell, slightly damp and cool, awakened her memories.
When she was young, the death of her parents hit her like a thunderbolt and shook her life, and before the shock subsided, she left Herod and headed to Pulder. For Olivia, Herod was the past when her parents were still alive, so she had not lost her Herod nationality yet.
Now that she was an adult, it was not long before she had to make a choice.
“Do you like it that much?”
At the question, Olivia turned her head to face Margot.
“I always wanted to come. The Golden Lion statue that just passed by. I remember eating ice cream with my parents in front of it.”
“You said your hometown is not the capital?”
“Yes. I think I come here to hang out sometimes.”
Olivia turned her head again and looked out the window. Herod’s flag was fluttering all over the dark streets. In the meanwhile, a carriage carrying two people quickly passed by the main gate of the palace.
“Aren’t you afraid?”
Olivia, who had been looking at the majestic golden bars with her eyes wide open, turned her head again to face Margot at the question.
There was silence for a moment.
Even the Ling felt uncomfortable with Margot’s harsh and strict blue gaze. Still, little Olivia just met her gaze with a silent expression and did not back down.
Margot’s expression became mischievous.
“You should not stare into the eyes of other royals you meet in the palace like this.”
Olivia then quickly lowered her gaze.
“I’m sorry.”
“This is your first time visiting the royal palace. Aren’t you nervous?”
To the question, Olivia glanced at her furtively. How scary was the professor in front of her at first? She took a deep breath of Herod’s air, and then she exhaled and answered calmly.
“I’m nervous. It’s a bit scary, too. However…”
“However?”
“Still, I’m excited to come to Herod. If it weren’t for the royal invitation, I probably wouldn’t have come to Herod while my grandmother was alive.”
Margot curled up her lips and smiled at her calm words.
