Chapter 1
A Secret Dream
There was a man walking quickly down the magnificent and beautiful hallway. He had straight-combed blond hair and thick eyebrows under a smooth forehead.
The pinnacle of the perfectly symmetrical beautiful face with the straight and high nose bridge was the reddish green eyes. Eyes with a mixture of dignity and arrogance befitting those who were born as natural rulers.
However, unlike his leisurely expression, his footsteps along the hallway were full of impatience. As he turned the corner and climbed the stairs, passing the landing, he crossed the hallway again to a beautiful white door.
The beautiful face, which was devoid of emotion like a statue, finally cracked.
As soon as he opened the door, there was the illusion that pure white light was pouring in. A soft breeze seemed to rush in, and the frozen season seemed to flow again as soon as the door opened.
The man’s gaze stayed in one place.
The winding black hair stood out in an all-white room. A bright round forehead, eyebrows as dark as the hair, black pupils beneath them, and round earlobes with the hair tucked behind them.
Sensing his presence, she slowly raised her head.
Her large eyes widened a little as their eyes met, her red lips parting, revealing the pearly white teeth.
The man stopped breathing for a moment.
“Noah!”
With her bright, joyous voice, the man who had been standing motionless until now approached her. An impatience arose as if his calm face would disappear at any moment.
Noah hurriedly leaned over her on the couch.
Carefully supporting her slender neck with one hand, he took her voluptuous rose-red lips. Her scent brushed his nose, and the soft sensation that wet the tips of his lips made his stomach boil and tingle as if it was about to melt.
“Haa…”
A burning thirst came at the sound of her quivering breath as all the senses seemed to push him.
After he tilted his head a little further and tucked his head into her neck, Noah bit her dress that was barely hanging from her pale shoulder with his teeth. Then, the dazzling white skin contrasted with her dark hair was revealed.
“Noah…”
As the feverish voice penetrated his ears, it felt like his head was melting.
He drew in a heavy breath and carefully swallowed her delicate, curled shoulders. With her sharp voice tickling his ears, the soft, muffled sensation lingered on the tip of his tongue.
He felt like it would be okay if the world ended like this.
Feeling the feel of her fingers caressing his hair, Noah lifted his head. The clear, elegant face was looking at him.
Looking at his face that was reflected in the black eyes, Noah whispered.
“Olivia.”
Noah opened his eyes in a flash. A rough breath, uncharacteristic of a person sleeping, flowed from his smooth lips. Although he tried to calm down and clear his mind, the brutally familiar ceiling came into view.
He unknowingly stopped breathing and closed his eyes again.
“Crazy b*stard…!”
He spat out curse words through his teeth and rubbed his face roughly several times. Even then, he hit the innocent pillow with the back of his head several times to channel his anger.
Only the sound of his heavy breathing filled the quiet bedroom.
As he gasped hard before pulling off the covers to sit on the edge of the bed, he rested his elbows on his knees and buried his face in his palms. Hallucinations he had never had before echoed in his ears regardless of his will.
‘Noah…’
At the clear voice calling his name, Noah eventually burst out laughing.
“Crazy. Have you built up your desires…”
He tilted his big back, trying to control his lingering feelings. The calm, clear voice had never trembled, and it had never dared to mention his name… no, it couldn’t.
The word that voice called wasn’t ‘Noah’…
‘Your Highness.’
He had never faced the black eyes that were clouded with passion, and her slender arms had never entangled on his neck.
All of them are just illusions created by Noah Astrid.
“I have felt dirty since morning.”
Noah laughed bitterly at himself and then looked at the silver flashlight on the bedside table. It worked well for a while, but the gear broke yesterday.
Olivia.
It was a name he thought would be forgotten in a month, but it seldom faded from his mind.
Was that all?
He wasn’t in his puberty, yet he was dreaming like that now.
Noah clicked his tongue annoyedly and opened the newspaper on the bedside table to distract himself. His gaze, which started with an article about the ruined royal family of Pollia, was all in one place.
It was this name again.
Noah’s wrinkled gaze slid to the black-and-white photo below the title. A graceful woman in a shirt and flared skirt was smiling straight ahead… just like in the newspaper when he first saw her more than two years ago.
About two years ago.
Herodington, the capital of Herod kingdom. A mansion located in the famous Upper River, famous for its high land prices. Noah, who returned home around midnight yesterday after attending an event, woke up early in the morning.
“Ha… d*mn.”
Not only that he was tried, but he was also in a bad mood since the morning. How could he feel good because the results of yesterday’s event would soon be in front of him?
Noah turned his gaze to the bedside table.
Right there.
Today’s morning newspaper.
Noah quickly reached over and grabbed the newspaper before checking the front page.
He had never wanted his face to decorate the front page as much as today, but how could life be so easy? The moment he saw his uncle’s face, he closed his eyes tightly and spat out a series of harsh curse words.
“Ha, d*mn it. D*mn it!”
Noah jumped up and tossed the newspaper with the face of his hated uncle. With this, all the efforts he had made yesterday were in vain. Even though he attended as many as seven events, he couldn’t stop the glory of having his uncle’s face on the front page.
“Why are you asking me to clean up Uncle’s shit!!”
His father, the King, would summon him in a fit of rage today as well.
Furious at the mere thought, he got up, took a cigarette, and went out onto the balcony. Just as he was about to light a cigarette, the chief maid, Mrs. Betty, pushed the tray into the room.
Noah spoke while leaning on the balcony railing and looking up at the sky.
“Thank you. Leave it there.”
The prince looked quite displeased.
Seeing him like that, Mrs. Betty quickly set the food on the table and glanced at him. The smooth face line and the harmonious features, like delicately sculpted by an artist, were wonderful and marvelous at a glance.
Although he had a tall and stout physique, he exuded a delicate and graceful atmosphere, whether it be because of his well-groomed face or his graceful body movements.
Most of the time, Noah was polite even to those below him, so it was not uncomfortable to serve him. However, Prince Noah never had an emotional exchange with the servants, and if the servants dared to cross that line, they would be relentlessly dismissed.
Mrs. Betty poured the freshly brewed tea into the teacup before hurriedly turning around.
After confirming that Mrs. Betty was gone, Noah picked up the newspaper he had thrown on the bed and sat down in front of the steaming food. With hot black tea in midsummer, he glared at his uncle’s picture with cold eyes and flipped through several pages.
While he participated in as many as seven events, sadly, there was no mention of him.
“All that hard work went down the drain.”
Noah, who was about to close the newspaper with a sharp mutter, stopped for a moment when he noticed something.
His gaze slid down from the title.
In the small photo, about the size of a palm, a woman wearing a neat shirt and flared skirt was smiling, standing side by side with his aunt, Professor Marguerite.
The shy smile on her face was quite pretty.
“The best graduate of Herodington University… Olivia Liberty.”
As he was mentioning Olivia’s name in his mouth, he heard a rushing sound. His forehead, which had been smooth for a moment, wrinkled again. As the door opened with a knock that was as fast as its nervousness, Mason, the secretary, burst in.
Noah stood up before he could say anything, setting the newspaper down on the table.
“Ten minutes.”
Mason shut the door and went out as if it wasn’t worth explaining more, and Noah tugged at the rope.
